Value-IT

VALUE-IT provides techniques for adaptive, hierarchical bundling of IT services that match consumer needs. An IT service is a commercial service, ordered and provisioned on-line.
Consider clearing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for music, and repartitioning the paid fees to artists. ‘Clearing’ and ‘repartitioning’ are commercial, fully automated services, performed by right societies who get paid for this. Artists (re)select their preferred society for each different right. Since a track usually has a multiple artists and rights, each track requires a constellation of societies, which may change over time. Our VALUE-IT software configures for each track a specific constellation of right societies on-the-fly, and adapts the constellation if service quality criteria are not met anymore.
With computer assisted consumer need elicitation we obtain functional and quality IT service requirements. We match these with commercial IT-service descriptions in a multi-supplier catalogue to find utility-increasing service bundles. Then we automatically compose alternative constellations who provide these bundles, but such that all enterprises can earn money. Then we compose supporting coordination processes and web-services.
All composition is controlled by skeletons. These are designed by tools of BizzDesign. A preference ordering is made for the alternative constellations, to select the provisioning constellation. For service provisioning, we use the Cordys platform. Then, the provisioned bundle is continuously monitored; if the bundle does not meet requirements anymore, a new constellation is configured. The composition process (need elicitation, service matching, (re)configuration, monitoring) assumes a hierarchical organization of enterprises, in which an enterprise decides for the hierarchically lower enterprises.
